There is NO other treatment in the world like BOTOX® Cosmetic! The procedure takes only a few minutes and anesthesia is not required. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes two to ten days to take full effect—one day you have wrinkles around your eyes and a week later, they are virtually gone! The longer you use BOTOX® Cosmetic to weaken the muscles that make the wrinkles, the less often you need it. Most people need around 3 to 4 treatments per year!

BOTOX® for Excessive Sweating
Hyperhidrosis is a disorder that that defines individuals who sweat more than the body would normally need to maintain their optimal temperature. There are two types of Hyperhydrosis:

Focal – sweating localized to one or more areas like:

• Feet
• Underarms
• Face

Generalized – sweating that is caused by another underlying condition like:

• Obesity
• Nerve Damage
• Drugs
• Menopause
• Other Disorders of the Endocrine System

Injections with BOTOX® interrupt the signal from the nerve to the sweat gland to reduce the sweating in the area that is affected. The injection is done with a very fine needle and, for treatment of the underarms, face and head, anesthesia is often not required as the procedure is virtually painless. For treatment of the hands and feet, local anesthesia is used to avoid injection discomfort.

The reduction of sweating based upon clinical study was 83% in 95% of participants. The effect of treatment can be immediate or take up to a week, with the average duration of effect after a single treatment being 7 months!
